Despite
the
proximity
of
Olympia
and
Pátra,
the
northwest
corner
of the
Peloponnese
is not
much
explored
by
foreign
visitors.
Admittedly,
it's not
the most
glamorous
of
coasts,
although
there
are some
very
attractive
beaches
including
the
glorious
one at
Kalogriá
, but a
visit to
the old
port of
Katákolo
or
around
Loutrá
Kyllínis/Arkoúdhi
can
provide
a
pleasant
enough
diversion.
If
heading
for
Delphi,
or
central
or
western
Greece,
car-drivers
and
pedestrians
alike
can save
backtracking
to
Athens
by using
the
ferry
links
across
the Gulf
of
Kórinthos
between
either
Río and
Andírio
(the
shortest
and most
frequent)
or Éyio
and
Áyios
Nikólaos.
From
Kyllíni
there
are
regular
crossings
to
Zákynthos,
and in
summer
to
Kefalloniá,
while
Katákolo
has (summer-only)
kaďkia
to
Zákynthos.
