Visiting this northwestern nook of the region entails a complicated detour from the direct Édhessa-Kastoriá route and so is really best tackled only if you have your own transport. Its highlights are a set of lakes, especially the bird-rich Préspa pair, nestling in a strategic spot where Greece, Albania and FYROM meet; and a handsome mountain village, Nymféo . The area's main urban centre is Flórina , a rather charmless place, whose one attraction is its Archeological Museum.
