TRAINS
Trains for Kórinthos and the Peloponnese leave from the Stathmós Peloponníssou , those for northern Greece from Stathmós Laríssis . The stations adjoin each other, just west of Deliyánni, on the #1 trolleybus route. To reach the Peloponnese station, use the metal overpass next to the Laríssis station. The new Inter-City trains are considerably faster and more reliable but there is a hefty extra charge (also levied on rail passes).
Destinations from Stathmós Peloponníssou include: Árgos (6 daily; 3hr 10min); Kalamáta (4 daily; 6hr 30min-8hr); Kórinthos (12 daily; 1hr 30min-2hr); Pátra (8 daily; 3hr 30min-4hr 30min); Pyrgos (7 daily; 5hr 30min-6hr 30min). Thessaloníki (10 daily; 6hr 10min-8hr); Vólos (3 daily; 5-7hr).
BUSES
Attica Buses for most destinations in Attica leave from the Mavromatéon terminal (250m north of the National Archeological Museum, at the junction with Leofóros Alexándhras). Exceptions are specified in the text.
Destinations include: Lávrio (every 30min until 6pm, then hourly until 9pm; 1hr 30min); Marathon Tomb (every 30min until 2pm, hourly thereafter; 1hr 15min); Rafína (every 30min; 1hr); Sounion by the coast (hourly on the half-hour; 1hr 30min); Sounion by the inland route (hourly on the hour; 1hr 45min).
Peloponnese and western/northern Greece Most buses leave from the terminal at Kifissoú 100, a good 4km northeast of the city centre, in the industrial district of Peristéri; the easiest way to get there is on the #051 bus from the corner of Vilára and Menándhrou (near Omónia).

Central Greece Buses for most other destinations in central Greece leave from the Liossíon 260 terminal, easiest reached by taxi. Alternatively, take either bus #024 at the Amalías entrance of the National Gardens (by Syndagma), or on Panepistimíou almost to the end of its route (about 25min; the stop is 200m south of the terminal); or the metro from Omónia/ Monastiráki to the Áyios Nikólaos station (800m southeast of the terminal; coming out, go under the rail line, turn left and look out for the buses).
Destinations include: Áyios Konstandínos (hourly at quarter past the hour; 2hr 30min); Delphi (6 daily; 3hr); Halkídha (every 30min; 1hr 15min); Karpeníssi (3 daily; 6hr); Kymi, for Skyros ferries (6 daily; 3hr 30min); Ósios Loukás (2 daily; 4hr); Thíva/Thebes (hourly; 1hr 30min); Tríkala (9 daily; 5hr 30min); Vólos (9-12 daily; 5hr).
ISLAND FERRIES AND HYDROFOILS

Pireás Ferries and hydrofoils to the Argo-Saronic, Monemvassía, Crete, the Cyclades, Dodecanese and northeast Aegean islands.
Lávrio Ferries daily to Kéa. Bus from Mavromatéon.
Rafína Ferries daily to Mármari and Kárystos on Évvia; most days to Ándhros, Tínos, Syros and Mykonos, plus less frequently to Páros, Náxos and Amorgós; and two or three weekly to Áyios Efstrátios, Lésvos and Límnos. Hydrofoils to Évvia (Styra, Mármari and Kárystos), Ándhros, Tínos, Mykonos, Páros, Náxos and beyond. Many ferries from Rafína to the Cyclades leave in the late afternoon - a boon if you've missed the morning Pireás boats. Bus from Mavromatéon.
